Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center

Programs Overview

We believe that all styles of martial arts have their own special way of helping individuals grow into the person they were meant to be. Martial arts brings people together, which is exactly what our world needs. Our curriculum of kickboxing, Jiu-jitsu, and weapons sits on a strong foundation of Practical Okinawan karate.

Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center Practical Okinawan Karate

Practical Okinawan Karate

Karate is not only a fun way to get into shape and learn self-defense, it’s also a lifestyle that has brought honor and discipline to countless individuals for hundreds of years.

The fighting arts of Okinawa have a rich heritage that traces back to the 14th century. There were many occurrences throughout the history of the Ryukyuan Kingdom that helped shape Karate into what it is today. Karate is a fusion of the indigenous fighting arts of Okinawa, southern Chinese martial arts from the Fujian Province, and quite possibly the combative methodologies of the Samurai. In essence, the spirit of Practical Karate is quite similar to the modern MMA approach. If it works, use it.

Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center Confidence Building

Confidence Building

In today’s world, many individuals struggle with low self-confidence. This creates a challenge for goal setting and peer interaction. Our curriculum specializes in showing each student what they are truly capable of. Through the traditional teachings of martial arts, setting and reaching goals in a supportive environment, one can learn how to be a strong and confident individual.

Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center Kickboxing

Kickboxing

Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center incorporates Kickboxing into its curriculum.

Most karate schools either point spar or don’t spar at all. We have used kickboxing as our form of free sparring since our conception. Kickboxing is a wonderful way to get into shape and learn viable self defense methods all while having fun! All sessions are conducted under the watchful eye of an experienced black belt instructor. The kickboxing environment in our Dojo is always friendly and supportive of each participant’s unique goals.

Bitanga’s Martial Arts Center After School Karate Program

Meigs students can ride the bus directly to our dojo, where they will be greeted by a welcoming environment. The program includes homework assistance, snacks, and a weekly enrichment activity to help students grow academically and personally. Rooted in martial arts values, our program ensures that children are developing physically, mentally, and emotionally—preparing them for success both in school and in life.
